(Vintage) Paper Prints

I had this idea to print my photos on vintage papers, so I’d been gathering items found in my parents’ basement and the second hand shop.

This is one of many that I’ve done so far: “Haley’s Comet.” My dad had these old copies of the trail of Haley’s Comet from the ’80s so I found a sky photo in my files and printed it directly onto the paper.

Now, I can’t stop! It seems like the more I do, the more ideas I get: Guitar music, graph paper, and old patterns are spread out in my office.

Too much fun.

Mixed Media

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

I have thousands of photos (and don’t intend to stop taking more any time soon!), and have been wanting to try something new with them. Starting with a blank canvas, I worked at this piece layer by layer, knowing only the beginning photo I wanted to use and the quotation by Rumi that I love: “Let yourself by silently drawn by the strange pull of what you love. It will not lead you astray.”

I am happy with the way all these little pieces have come together in a cohesive collage.
