We visited the floating flower market while we were in Amsterdam, Bloemenmarkt.
All of it was gorgeous.
But there was this one shop that seemed to have more exotic flowers, so we wandered in. There were flowers everywhere – even hanging from the rafters.
It was incredibly beautiful.
As much beauty as there is in the season’s new growth, there is also an exquisiteness to the remnants of last summer.
These pretty and papery sepia-toned hydrangeas have an artistic appeal.
Not only the leaves change colours in early fall.
Each time I walk out the front door, I am greeted by pretty pink hydrangea. The cooler weather has turned their pale petals to a soft pink.
My mother cuts these and keeps them throughout the winter. I have planted some of my own so that I might do the same.
Although I do not welcome the drop in temperatures, there is beauty to be found in the changing of seasons.
