Even the materials for my collages have an artistic appeal.
Before I cleaned up, I noticed the curves and lines of the thread, and the juxtaposition of the three colours.
It is inspiration for photography and creativity.
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
I have thousands of photos (and don’t intend to stop taking more any time soon!), and have been wanting to try something new with them. Starting with a blank canvas, I worked at this piece layer by layer, knowing only the beginning photo I wanted to use and the quotation by Rumi that I love: “Let yourself by silently drawn by the strange pull of what you love. It will not lead you astray.”
I am happy with the way all these little pieces have come together in a cohesive collage.
