Sometimes, I don’t get what I set out to capture with my camera. Sometimes, I get led astray.

When I grabbed my camera to capture some flower shots, I happened to look down while gauging the light. The swirly designs of my curtains appeared to be embossed on the floor, on a background of parallel lines created by the flooring and the edge of the curtains. All gray and white, like a muted abstract.

Distracted by the shadows, I forgot about the flowers.

I don’t always get what I want. Sometimes, I get better.
